Description
Our djembe is hand carved, painted with Aboriginal dot painting and comes from Indonesia.
The percussion djembe, also known as the bongo drum, is a hand drum and originally comes from West Africa. It is particularly popular with musicians because its shape gives it an extensive sound spectrum.
Its body, whose shape resembles a goblet, consists of a hollowed-out tree trunk, the covering is mostly made of goat skin, in the past often antelope skin, and is held in place by a string.
The wooden body of traditional djembes is made seamlessly and by hand from a tree trunk, so that each drum made in this way is absolutely unique. This also applies to the Simandra Djembe.
